A couple of months ago, Chithra Jeyaram, the independent filmmaker who is making a documentary on our family asked if it was okay for her to make a micro documentary from the footage she already had as part of filming the larger film. Her request was in response to a call from Asian American Documentary Network. A-Doc was curating a series of films for their storytelling initiative 2024 titled – Our Stories, Our Voices.

I said yes.

On Mother’s Day, this tiny documentary had its moment in the spotlight at CAAMFest in San Francisco and, today, it is available on the A-Doc YouTube channel.
