Under the Queen’s Umbrella is a sixteen-episode argument about motherhood dressed as a palace drama.

This show is a pontification on motherhood. At the heart of this tale is a mother with a brood of children. She is the Queen literally. Over 16 episodes we see her take charge, protect and eventually set her children free to own their destiny.
It is beautifully made, slow, nuanced take on responsibility and parenting. Also, surprisingly feminist and inclusive.
My novel A Star Keeps Its Distance lives in this same world of K-pop, fandom, and second chances. Signed copies ship from my desk in Exton.
Protect them, then let them go. I have been working on the second half for years. It helped to watch a queen do it in silk.
