Best Choice Ever: A Review

Best Choice Ever starts so well that the ending feels like a betrayal.

The opening is fresh and mature and balanced. You come to care about these characters, you get invested in their lives, you settle in to see how it all turns out. Xu Kai and Yang Zi are excellent. The cast is solid, the writing assured.

Then, right where a clean finish was waiting, the show reaches for an unnecessary subplot and a vague ending. It deflates what could have been a winner.

My novel A Star Keeps Its Distance lives in this same world of fandom, longing, and second chances. Signed copies ship from my desk in Exton.

Good writing, good casting, undone at the finish line. I wanted to love it more than it let me.
