The Trunk moves fast and looks gorgeous doing it.
Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin lead a cast of beautifully damaged people, every one of whom could have used a good therapist. The plot is a hodgepodge of thriller and romance that does not always cohere. What holds is the craft. The music is spectacular. The editing is sharp. The production values carry you over the rough patches in the story.
Come for Gong Yoo. Stay for how good it all sounds and looks.
