I am Indian and American, they say proudly when we talk about either country. I wonder if I should correct them and let it be. Often while checking boxes on race and ethnicity, I pause, not sure what they mean really.

Such a heartfelt post. I have a question. Do your children have Indian or American names? I would be curious about how chose to name them. Or did you go with the names they had already been given? I’m always in awe when I read your posts about how you navigate your life. Look forward to reading your stories for many years and learning something each time I read.
Thank you! They have a mix of their birth and given names. Actually, I will write about it one of these days. Naming is so important right?

I agree. It is a huge part of their identity and in hindsight, there are a things we could have done to make it better but all said and done, I think we have a fairly decent solution. 🙂
