My Calorie Boy is saddled with a title that undersells it. Beneath the goofy name is one of the better high-school cdramas going.
It follows a group of kids across two years of school, through parental pressure, friendship, and the first complications of love. What it does best is nuance. The relationships are never simple, and the writing refuses to make them so. It is well paced, well cast, and acted with care.
