I am at work. I should be working. Instead I am writing or thinking about writing and writers and writing retreats.
As of this morning, I am waiting to see when my piece in Verve India will be published. I am waiting to hear from Westland Books to know if they will be making a formal contract of acceptance for a children’s book. I am waiting to speak to Rachel Macy of Collins Ave. She reached out last week and then it has been radio silence.
It seems like my life is full of possibilities. Just that, possibilities instead of facts and reality.
My mind hops and jumps, unable to focus. I am eager to talk to other writers, to explore that fascinating community I found at Yale last year.
Today I speak with Shabnam Samuel. I am excited about all the possible things that can happen.
All my life is about the excitement of impending, future things.
I wish it were about the present. About things already happening.
Sigh!
