Lakshmi Iyer is an alumnus of the Yale Writers’ Workshop. Iyer has a certificate in creative writing from The Writer’s Studio at Simon Fraser University. Her work has appeared in Adoptive Families, The Huffington Post, Chicago Now, Centered, Verve India and, Mutha Magazine. She can be found online on Twitter @lakshgiri and on Facebook.

Her essay titled Motherhood, Cleaved is part of an anthology I Am Strength available for purchase on Amazon.

A mother by adoption and biology, she resides with her husband and children in the Northeast US. On most days, she can be found by the stove serving up hot food. When she is not cooking, she recounts the mundane-ness of her life in startling detail on this blog.
