In the past couple of days, I have been hearing about GDPR all over the blogosphere and like any concerned blogger, I started reading and reaching out. At the moment, I have a new privacy policy page that explains what kind of information this blog collects from the user i.e., you when you interact with me over comments or likes. I have also added a widget that asks for your permission to use cookies.
Going forward (effective this Friday, May 25th) I will be disabling comments on the blog as a means to reduce the amount of information that is collected from the user unless wordpress.com comes up with a way to get appropriate permissions from the user. You are welcome to interact with me and leave comments or engage in discussion on the blog’s facebook page.
I am also on Twitter as @lakshgiri if you prefer to engage with me there.
Umm..I can comment…..
A little confused.
Waiting to see if WordPress comes up with tools and if my existing privacy policy is enough to cma. 😍
So, found an option to explain how comment data is processed. So that takes care of the GDPR requirement and I do not have to disable comments. 🙂
I should be looking into this, no? Sigh.
