A Reason, a Season or a Lifetime

I’ve gone to this text many times in my life. Often to explain little inconsistencies. Or big ones. Have never returned disappointed. It is one of those cliched things that always seems to make sense.

My India trip and this week had me puzzling over human behavior. I tried not to let it bother me. Yet it does. It does because I care. Then I did what I usually do. Take recourse in this little note. Rearrange relationships in categories. Somehow it all makes sense. Now.

Go on. Tell me. What is your favorite verse or saying or song. What is it that you turn to when you feel sore inside?

  1. Dear laksh,
    That little note link was inspiring and encouraging especially when it comes to relationships. When I am gloomy, the coloring palette and my paint brush keeps me happy:) It seems to work all the time for me no matter what:)
    Have a fantabulous day!

  2. Hi Laksh, you have been missed..! How are you doing? I will come back and catch up on your other posts, but this is a topic close to my heart, so had to comment.

    I love the one you quoted. I also take inspiration from this http://www.geocities.com/helsinki_p/Desiderata.html. I like oh the places you will go by Dr. Seuss (http://zigma-an.livejournal.com/22247.html). Also love Vivekananda quotes. Here is one. http://zigma-an.livejournal.com/22434.html. And the quote by Woody Allen that I had mentioned here a while back (http://zigma-an.livejournal.com/22739.html). Words are so powerful!

  3. Nice to have you back, Laksh. I have always found strength in this Serenity quote:
    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

  4. Let me try to be honest!!!!!!

    I guess I have read most of the post in the past two months listed down to refer the newest post.

    I missed some post which were deciders. I left some because it was not interesting to read.

    I do not know what I should think about the new one. “Inculcate” Probably.

    Why does one feel sore?

  5. @gayu: Must try the coloring thing. Used to love it as a child. These days I play with my niece’s little whiteboard and it fascinates me.
    @Suman: Thank you! Love the ones you have linked back to.
    @Devi: very nice one and very apt for my mental state right now.
    @Ramesh: No idea what you are trying to say.

  6. For me this poem or reading the Gita helps me to figure myself and relationships out <a href=”http://www.yuni.com/library/docs/205.html” rel=”nofollow”http://www.yuni.com/library/docs/205.html.

    Art/creative activities, nature and children always seem to help when you want to lift your spirits or put life into order.

  7. @Kiran: Agree with your last line. Will check out the quote.
    @Manchus: Amazing how some ‘cliched’ things really do work. 🙂
    @Silent Reader: With you on that. They help. Sometimes though. ;p
