A break in the clouds

Three weeks after K is back, we are finally back to what I call a well oiled domestic schedule. I pretty much gave up on all the stuff I was doing as soon as K was back. K on the other hand was mentally still in vacation mode and refused to take charge. So our dishes piled high, the laundry basket overflowed and the fridge was stark white inside.

Day after day for three weeks we managed to make some food, go to work and vegetated in front of the couch. All that changed yesterday. Rushing from work to the local produce market, we picked up a trunk-load of veggies and fruits, topped that with grocery from the wholesale club and the local Indian grocers. Reaching home ravenous we hauled the loot with glee. Stacking up food in the fridge and the pantry made me happy.

Sleeping in after a long, long time, I woke up eager to get started. Sorting the laundry into piles, I got the first round started and headed downstairs to make myself my morning cup of coffee. Sipping the steaming hot beverage in my living room, I felt incredibly happy. I knew it was going to be one of those perfect days. The kind where K and I work in tandem cooking, cleaning, chatting and listening to music.

The day is a quarter done and the dishes are clean, food ready, laundry done and my mind is humming a nameless tune. The day is bright and so is my mood.

Happy weekend everyone!

  1. Good to see you chirpy! I have a theory that half the clutter inside one’s head is caused by clutter in the surroundings. It’s true in my case atleast.

  3. So the Flylady is back in form. I guess that was the reason for all the blues. Even for me, when I cleaned up my desk and rearranged things around me, life is looking up 🙂
