My Inner Carrie

I have mentioned how much I heart SATC in other posts here. I love Carrie Bradshaw. Let me qualify that by saying I like how she thinks of everything in her life as an article waiting to be written. When I think Carrie, I imagine her in her PJ’s laptop open and words typing on screen. I love the voice over as she types it out.

You can see where I am getting can’t you?

I imagine this Carrie within me voicing over my thoughts before I type away. Except that my life is no where as exciting as hers. The parallels end with the way she views life and everything that happens to her. It happens to me when I am waiting for the signal to turn or washing away soap from my face or when I am ironing my clothes. The inane things in life provide fodder for thought.

Sentences like “Are women naturally nurturing or is it a way to exert control on others’ lives?” pop in my mind when I am yelling to K to remember to pack a spoon in his lunch bag or forcing him to gulp down a glass of milk before he leaves to work.

Then I think about it some more and spin a tale out of it. That’s how it works for me. This whole personal blogging game. πŸ™‚

  1. Yes, yes, let us put a poster of laksh on the PTC buses, now:) I think you are lot more balanced in your life than carrie Bradshaw is.
    Thanks for the award:)

@Sachita: Haha! That would be something! Most welcome!

  2. I like SATC (some how can never get to saying I love some TV series or movie myself… πŸ™‚ )I like all her Manolos πŸ™‚ (the girly trait in me I suppose) Of course, like the way she writes everything into an article; but as Sachita has written…you are definitely a lot more balanced in life πŸ™‚

@Apar: Good to know that! πŸ™‚

  3. I would say Everybody Loves Raymond reflects my life. We both are exactly the same as Deb and Ray. It’s golf for Ray and computer for S. He comes up with all sorts of lame excuses when I ask him to do something. Yesterday I asked him to rub some Vicks in A’s chest and back and S is telling he doesn’t know how to. You should have seen the expression on my face!

@Madhu: I can almost imagine scenes from ELR playing out at your home πŸ™‚
