Et tu, Google?

As much as I wanted to take a break from blogging and come back with something worth my while to talk about, this article on MarketWatch made me come hopping back to my cherished outlet.

Now, Google is a company I have come to love. The kind of love that grows over time. Much like A.R. Rehman’s music. You use it once, you use it again and then you branch out and explore all that this company has to offer. I have accounts on most of Google services and I use them with pride. As much as a lot has been written about online privacy and such, I was in love and I turned a blind eye to all the criticism.

But reading this article today shook me out of my stupor. In the grand scheme of things, it might be nothing but somehow I feel wide awake. Perhaps, there is trouble in paradise.

What do you think?

  1. I am a big user of their services too. I guess its part of election campaign support, every big company does that. http://www.marketingpilgrim.com/2008/02/political-donations-at-yahoo-google-and-microsoft.html
I don’t consider this by itself means GOOG is turning bad. As far as privacy is concerned, it’s not a problem for me, I don’t work for DoD. It’s natural when things grow so big all eyes keep them watching. But for what it is now, they are living up to their motto.
